Kings of Leon deliver one of the most exhilarating, indelible rock songs of the year to date with “Supersoaker,” the lead single from the Oklahoma band’s upcoming LP, Mechanical Bull. Vocalist Caleb Followill wails above a shimmering blast of groove and brisk guitar, his disheveled inflections making it soulfully evident that he’s got some Ray Charles and Wilson Pickett pulsing through his musical bloodstream. Bottom line, this song’s got guts and then some.
